Serbia to continue investing in its Army - Vucic

Prime Minister and President-elect Aleksandar Vucic says Serbia has done everything to preserve stability - "and has, for now, been successful in this."

Speaking for TV Prva on Monday, Vucic said that Serbia "will continue to invest in its Army."

Vucic will on Tuesday attend the celebration of Serbian Army Day, Victory Day, and Europe Day, that will be held at the Nikinci military ranges.

An exercise, dubbed "Steel 2017" will also take place there, when the Serbian Army (VS) will show "all available powerful armaments, but also a lot of new things," Vucic said.

"People say that nothing is happening in the military, wheareas what is happening is that those terrible boots which we wore serving in the JNA (Yugoslav People's Army) in 1988-1989 are gone, instead everyone has two or three pairs, more uniforms, salaries, we are accepting new soldiers," he said.

According to Vucic, the Serbian Army "also managed to work on the ALAS missile (system)."
